Yes. I believe I've installed hotplug support correctly. I think the
evidence in the logs from when I switched the CF reader between USB ports
indicated this (but please correct me if I'm wrong or have mis-understood)

As another poster has pointed out, it appears that my CF Reader (SCM Micro
USBAT-02) is currently unsupported.

I guess what would be good to know is; "Is the rest of the USB sub-system
configured and working OK ?"    How can I tell ? Which message indicates
a driver problem ?

Should I be concerned about the error/warning messages from 
'modprobe usb-uhci' ?
