Hello, I have gone back about a month and haven't seen anything similar, so please forgive me if this has been answered.
I have two linux boxen with usb. Box 1: ASUS A7M266-D Mobo w/ USB 2 compliant add-on card Uses usb-ohci and works (with what I will address next) Box 2: SOYO SY-K7V Dragon Plus Mobo w/ USB 1.1 compliant internal Uses usb-uhci and does not work Work with? I have a Canon PowerShot A20 that I can interface with either. I use KDE3. The camera IOSLAVE uses gphoto2 (stable in this case--the camera is supported) to allow the konqueror browser to browse the camera. This feature works 'flawlessly' with the ASUS system. On the SOYO system, however, the camera is detected and is listed in the USB information menu (meaning, at least, the device is seen). When I try to configure the camera, I get an error, and the details merely say: "Could not claim the USB device" I am not, nor do I claim to be, in any great understanding of USB and the differences between usb-ohci, usb-uhci, uhci, ehci, etc... I was hoping someone out there has seen this and maybe can help a little. I am using 2.4.17 kernel (works fine). I have the boxes setup [nearly] identical. Same kde, same kernel, same libs...only different hardware. I hope this is enough info...if not, simply yell at me and I can try to provide what is needed. Thanks!
