I will try it, but it doesn't explain why it worked without problems on
some laptop I used a while ago. Unfortunately I can't test it using this
laptop anymore. But IIRC it worked all fine on that laptop, which was a
Dell Latitude BTW.

Aha, interesting! I rather not try the firmware upgrade, altough I do
have an IDE machine. In case there are differences in firmware between
the USB variant and the pure IDE variant of the drive.

Interesting combo, I didn't think about that combo when purchasing my
Burner. :-)
I use the burner straight onto the usb-port of the motherboard. I do
have a USB-hub, but I rather not use it with the burner just to be sure
the HUB isn't causing the problems.
