Why did you create /dev/usb/usbTTYx when you linked /dev/usb/ttyUSB0?
Try creating /dev/usb/ttyUSB0 and /dev/usb/ttyUSB1.

And you should be setting /dev/pilot to ttyUSB1, as the kernel log
shows.  There's also a usbvisor HOWTO on the web (I think it's linked
off of http://usbvisor.sf.net/ )
