Hi Matthias,
I have an Adaptec USB2Connect for Notebooks. I connected my Plextor
241040U CDRW drive to it and I was able to read the CD in the drive. I
still haven't tried to burn CDs yet. I'm still encountering problems
using it. See below:
Case 1: PC card is in and the system is booting up (cold plug)
I get an occasional kernel panic.
Case 2: PC card is inserted after the system is up (hot plug)
OK.
Case 3: PC card is removed while system is up
I first type /etc/hotplug/usb.rc stop before removing the PC card, OK.
If I remove the PC card immediately without typing the command I get
an occasional error or kernel panic.
Case 4: Tried to insert the PC card in after removing it while the
system is up
I get a fatal error.
