I don't understand what you mean by trying the other uhci driver. Sorry, I am
a bit of a newbie! i did manage to get my old Epson 1640 scanner working with
USB before, using insmod scanner with the right parameters and then modprobe
scanner. I was using SANE then. However SANE doesn't support my new Canon
scanner. :(
