Hi,
I asked a question a few weeks ago and never thanked Greg KH or Johannes
Erdfelt for their help. The problem actually went away during an upgrade,
so I stopped looking for the cause. Thanks anyway.
What I'm doing now, though, is trying to get Cups queues to be added
and removed as appropriate when printers appear and disappear. I have
my script run by usbmgr at the appropriate times and it is passed the
/proc/bus/usb/nnn/nnn filename corresponding to the printer. However,
I haven't yet found a way of determining which /dev/usb/lp* device
corresponds to the /proc/bus/usb file other than parsing the kernel logs.
How would I find this out?
The other thing I need is the printer's serial number. I could parse
that out of the output of "lsusb -D", but is there a better way?
Thanks,
