Hi people,

I just subscribed to this list, so please forgive me if this has been
asked before. Actually, i think it has, but I couldn't see a solution to
the problem.

I have a Sony Vaio U1 .. I also have a USB to serial adapter cable.

The cable works fine with my Toshiba laptop, but on the Vaio I get this
error message:

"missing kernel or user mode driver pl2303"

lsmod says ..

usbserial 17568 0 [pl2303]
[snip]
usbcore 51328 1 [pl2303 usbserial hid usbmouse
usb-storage usb-ohci]

If I try to dial out on my Nokia phone I don't see any reaction until I
hit ^C to abort the script .. the phone then says the connection has
been broken. So it seems that it's kind of working, but not completely.

Does anybody have any bright ideas?

Thanks!

sjb
