Can anyone help me?

I was hoping to get an MP3 player working with Linux. It is an AMAC
Hansori HAN-14XS(USB-64M). A friend picked it up in Korea.

I could get the bundled software running in a Wine window, when
attempting to transfer data to the device I got a message complaining
about the usb interface.

The device is detected during hotplugging however no driver is found.

My first guess is that the MP3 player is a storage device and should
work with usb-storage. My attempt to assign usb-storage to the device
by editing /etc/hotplug/usb.distmap or
/lib/modules/2.4.3-20mdk/modules.usbmap did not help and possibly
prevented hotplug from listing the device.

After looking at the source code I still can't tell if the usb-storage
driver is compatible with this device or if I'm misssing something in
the setup.

Can anybody offer any recommendations, insight, clarifications?

I plug in the device and it is found in /proc/bus/usb/devices:
