I'd recommend using a newer kernel.  A lot of problems were fixed in the
2.5 version of the keyspan driver.  2.4.19 might be ok for you also.  If
you still have problems, there is a patch on Keyspan's website for
2.4.18 that fixes most of the problems that were fixed in 2.5, and I'm
working on backporting these fixes right now.
