Hi, I seem to have a problem with my USB setup.
When I power up the system (P4 desktop, Intel D845W m/b, SuSE 8.0) the USB driver for my HP6200C USB scanner does not come up properly. The kicker is that about half the time it comes up OK, the other half it doesn't. Wierd or what! In /proc/bus/usb I have two numbered directories, indicating that I must have more than one USB controller on the motherboard. dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Aug 25 09:52 001 dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Aug 25 09:52 002 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 25 09:52 devices -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 25 09:52 drivers lspci -v|grep HCI 00:1f.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM USB (Hub (rev 12) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) 00:1f.4 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM USB (Hub (rev 12) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) I have noted the following differences between the two situations in the list below. I'd really appreciate it if someone here could take a look at this list and see if there is anything messed up here. Or suggest something to try. Thanks for listening, John. ==================================================================== xconsole messages ----------------- ****** When it WORKS ****** Aug 26 23:22:07 linux kernel: usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports Aug 26 23:22:07 linux kernel: usb-uhci.c: ENXIO 80000280, flags 0, urb c43a7a40, burb c43a7ac0 Aug 26 23:22:07 linux kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x3f0/0x201) is not claimed by any active driver.
