Well, my suggestion may be to do a simple backport of rtl8150 driver to stock Red Hat kernel. It is simple and I did it a lot of time : http://www.fuw.edu.pl/~pliszka/hints/redhat-module.html It allows you to compile just the thing you need, not the whole kernel.
