Well, I've never done any performance measurements on CD-RW.
So I have no idea what's up, though I suspect there's space
for quite a bit of improvement there.  OR maybe you just
don't have a very fast IDE adapter ... they're not all going
to give you 20 MByte/sec, even if the software could do so!
