I've had 0 issues with various USB devices on RedHat 7.x.

And I'm writing this as I reboot my wife's Windows XP system for the
17th time (no joke) this afternoon in a continuing, 3-hour attempt to
get her HP LaserJet 1220se "All-In-One" to work!

The HP LaserJet 1220se works perfectly on Linux, _including_ scanning
(although a full SANE interface isn't completed yet, so it's not 100%
point-n-click, but it works solid).

The problem with XP is that the printer shipped with only Windows
98/ME/2000 drivers on its CD, but no XP drivers. For various licensing
issues (for the 3rd party "All-In-One"), HP does _not_ have a "complete"
driver set on their web site. HP only have "patches" for XP -- of
which, I canNOT seem to get to work in the correct combination so the
"scanning" works.

I'm about to call HP and demand they send me a driver CD updated with XP
drivers and all the "All-In-One" software. The last time I needed to do
this (for a HP OfficeJet 680c), they charged me $69.
