Hi!
I bought an Aztech USB modem and tried to get it working under RH7.3. From
the Aztech web site (www.aztech.com), I found the driver and I downloaded
and installed. But the modem fail to work! Below is my problems and hope
you can help.
Aztech Product Model: Aztech 56K USB Modem (UM9800)
Operating System: Red Hat Linux 7.3
Problem: As suggested in Aztech web site, I down loaded the driver
slmdm-2.04-00_20mdk.i386.rpm and slmdm-usb-2.04-00_20mdk.i386.rpm and
installed them. I double confirmed these two driver are indeed installed
correctly on my system. The /dev/modem is pointing to /dev/slmdm
(/dev/modem -> /dev/slmdm). After all these, the system failed probing for
the modem. I tried to use the dial-up set up tool and tried to query the
modem, it all failed.
Under the Window XP (I set up my system to dual boot), the USB port I
connected this modem is COM4.
Have I missed any step in setting up this modem under Red Hat Linux 7.3. I
would appreciate for you step-to-step guide.
You attention to the above is greatly
