I wish to use my Ericsson T39m cell phone and my Fuji MX-2700 digital camera with my Dell Inspiron 2600 laptop.
The Dell does not have a serial port which both the cell phone and camera use by default. I have alternative solutions and these are, get a USB to Serial converter, such as the Aten UC-232, or buy USB cables for both the phone and camera. I have the source code for the camera and would use PPP for the phone to connect to my ISP. Which solution would make more sense ? My gut feel tells me to buy the cables. BTW I am running Slackware 8.1 with kernel 2.4.18 and I have already got my Palm m515 working fine via USB & pilot-link. --- Regards, Alf Stockton www.stockton.co.za "Two sure ways to tell a sexy male; the first is, he has a bad memory.
