Sorry about the delay in getting back to you but I have been away. The following is what I get with /proc/bus/usb/devices after plugging the usb cable for the phone.
ls -al /proc/bus/usb/devices /bin/ls: /proc/bus/usb/devices: No such file or directory ls -al /proc/bus/usb/ total 0 dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Nov 20 06:44 ./ dr-xr-xr-x 5 root root 0 Nov 20 06:44 ../ However I do get hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 2 in /var/log messages and there is a whole list of messages in /var/log/syslog which I can send if this will help. --- Regards, Alf Stockton www.stockton.co.za Some programming languages manage to absorb change, but withstand progress. -- Epigrams in Programming, ACM SIGPLAN Sept. 1982 On Wed, 13 Nov 2002, Greg KH wrote: > On Tue, Nov 12, 2002 at 02:26:57PM +0200, Alf C Stockton wrote: > > I have now acquired a USB cable for my Ericsson T39m cell phone and wish > > to connect to the Internet using this set-up. > > I have read the USB FAQ and various other documents pointed to by the FAQ > > but cannot find out how to do this. > > What does /proc/bus/usb/devices say with this device plugged in? > > thanks, > > greg k-h > ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: To learn the basics of securing your web site with SSL, click here to get a FREE TRIAL of a Thawte Server Certificate: http://www.gothawte.com/rd524.html _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
