The specs of the device say, that it also could play AAC coded files, but I
haven't tested this myself (I do not have AAC coded files).


But an idea for a user space program to control the device,maybe libusb
(http://libusb.sourceforge.net/) would be an mean to simplify coding of such a
program. But thats just a suggestion ;-). I have this library on my system for
accessing a camera, so far it works.
