i have a generic usb-memory stick/mp3 player, running on a suse linux 8.2.; my usb-hub is supported and runing, usb-storage module is running (and my usb-cdrom-drive runs correctely); but the usb-stick is not found when checked with cdrecord -scanbus, although it is seen when plugged in to the usb-bus, the correspondant entry in the proc/bus/usb/devices is as follows T: Bus=03 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 8 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=066f ProdID=3410 Rev= 0.83 S: Manufacturer=Sigmatel, Inc. S: Product=STMP3410 C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr=100mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=ff Driver=(none) E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
(NB: and seen with usbview ,the device is shown but in red) i guess i would have to add a entry in my /etc/hotplug/usb.distmap; but my trials were of no success; does anyone knows how to translate the above proc/bus/usb/device-message into an etc/hotplug/usb.distmap entry (or is another change in another script or map necessary) ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: eBay Get office equipment for less on eBay! http://adfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/711-11697-6916-5 _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
