I just sniffed the earthmate's traffic on both win98 and XP using several different progs (usbsniff 0.1 [tried to use usb-robot-master; didn't work], the newest usbsniff, and SnoopyPro, but I was having problems understanding/recreating what the driver does... hopefully this can help someone with the know how of HID && USB under linux to do this.
