I've seen this question posted a number of times (and have posted it a
couple of times myself) but it seems to have stumped everyone on this
list thus far. Whenever I connect my external CD-RW
to the USB hub of my Redhat 7.2 box, the USB subsystem seems to detect
it just fine:
T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 4 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=059f ProdID=a602 Rev= 2.00
S: Manufacturer=LaCie
S: Product=USB Mass STORAGE
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr= 10mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=08(stor.) Sub=02 Prot=01
Driver=usb-storage
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=83(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 2 Ivl=100ms

But it never gets attached to the scsi bus. All of the various scsi
modules (including sr_mod) are loaded to support my ide-scsi tape drive
(which works just fine.) I had this USB CD-RW working splendidly in RH
7.1, but when I upgraded to 7.2, it no longer attaches. Does anyone
have any idea what might be going on here? Or could someone point me to
a more appropriate mailing list if this is not the proper forum?
