Hi all!

Background:
----------------
Last week suddenly occured a problem with
my Scanner, I already discussed at the
SANE-devel-mailinglist. But they don't any
more ideas.
Some months ago I successfully installed
two Mustek BearPaw 2400 CU Plus; one at
my PC at home and one at work. Both run a
Debian Woody-System with Kernel 2.4.21-pre4.
Everything worked fine! But suddenly -- really
suddenly, because I didn't change anything
special apart from the daily 'apt-get update',
'apt-get upgrade' -- last week my scanner at
home came out on strike. The scanner at work
with the same packages running on the pc (from
http://people.debian.org/~aurel32/SANE stable main)
was still working.
Yesterday I took my "home-scanner" to work
to see, whether there's a hardware defect. It
didn't function at work -- 1 minute before the
"work-scanner" functioned (correct spelling?).
So I plugged-in the "work-scanner" again, but
it was also not working anymore. Now both of
the two don't work anymore for any reason I
don't understand. Unloading, reloading the
modules,

Error starting xsane:

- starting xsane:
no message in /var/log/messages (I guess
explainable from the above message in the
        last line)

Very long posting, I know, but I hope, that it
contains all the relevant information and not
too much garbage.

Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Many greetings,

Christoph
