Dear List I have purchased an Hp Deskjet 3420 printer, and tried to configure it for working with linux. The problem is I am not able to print anything (I have tried cups, lpd, and even echo "hello" > /dev/usb/lp0).
The configurations steps I took were to recompile the kernel to support usb (now I can see the printer in usbview) and installed hpijs (the hp server for ghostscript). I also noticed that usbview reports this printer as a USB 2.00 printer, and my motherboard supports only USB version 1.1. Is there a way to load the printer as a USB 1.1 printer ? will it help ? Looking forward for helpful ideas ynon ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: eBay Great deals on office technology -- on eBay now!
