-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a system with six usb ports on it's rear, however I have found that that's not even enough so I recently went out and bought a four-port iogear usb hub and attached it to one of my existing ports. I've put a Cyborg 3D joystick on it first and I think at that point it was working and joydev properly identified it. I added a couple of other devices to it like a usb serial port, a midi keyboard and now a flash card reader. Some point along the way I noticed that my joystick was showing up as Unknown device in usbview and I've tryed reloading joydev, unplugging and replugging the joystick and even restarting. I haven't gotten it to work since on that same usb hub thought the other devices are working. I decided to take my usb mouse which was hooked directly up to my system and swap it with the joystick and both devices worked. When I swapped them back to their original positions, the joystick no longer worked.
I've also seen other weird things with that hub like when I unplug one usb device, another one also disappears sometimes, can't remember anything specific though. Could this just be a cheap and buggy usb hub, as I got it free after rebate, or is there some bug with the linux drivers? If it is just a cheap hub, is there someplace to look for good hubs that will work with linux or any good brand names to use? - -- I sense much NT in you. NT leads to Bluescreen.
