I have a Spring Rev 1.1 USB 6-in-1 card reader(07cc/0200). I was told
that it works under Linux so I bought it. I also confirmed it on
working devices. Here is the dilemma. I have been troubleshooting it
for some time mostly I was using a RedHat kernel so I compiled my own
and spent a while with that. I tried streamlining it too much. Anyway,
I now have what is essentially a stock RH kernel except that it has LUN
support and win4lin support. Kernel version is 2.4.20-13.9, The
problem is that if I insmod sd_mod or try mounting one of the devices
the process hangs indefinitely. I think the problem lies in the sd_mod
because if it is not loaded it tries loading auto-magically but hangs
and that appears to be why I don't get a mount.

I have now gone to a stock RedHat kernel 2.4.20-18.9 and added the line
"options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=4" which allows makes it recognize the 4
different drives. I am using a via KT133A chipset, athlon 1.4ghz on an
Asus A7V133. Do i need to send more info? Would you like excerpts from
files? let me know what would be helpful. I don't want to post too
much and have you wade through it.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
