Dear Carl,

Both my SuSE 8.2 PCs work correctly whith my 'generic' 128MB 'thumb' or Key 
drive so I think the fstab that works on the 128MB should be OK for 256MB

from fstab: 
usbdevfs             /proc/bus/usb        usbdevfs   noauto                0 0

While struggling to get SuSE to use the earlier 128MB unit there were probs in 
8.1 trying to get it to assign a /dev/sd* device to the device; but it never 
hung the entire system!!!
