Dear $NAME:

I have a USB multiple flash card reader that connects to nvidia motherbaord
pci bus. The reader reads Compact Flash, Smart Media, Sony Memory Stick, and
the fourth type (Idon't remenber what it's called).
How to I access these cards? I have dredged up a pile of info on USB and
digital cameras with a reference to SCSI devices but I don't know how the
PCI bus figures into this formula.
I am running Mandrake v9.1 on ShuttleX w/nvidia motherboard that had Windows
XP home installed. I successfully did a dual boot installation of Linux and
found problems with the onboard ethernet interface, an installed ethernet
nic that I can't seem to get together with a driver, the modem ("winmodem"),
and now I'm trying to export jpeg images from the Gimp. I need a way out of
this machine from Linux and the only remaining avenue at this time is the
USB bus.
I believe I only need info on the role of the PCI bus.

I totally appreciate your time, $NAME, and attention:
