Anyone know what is the hotplug maillist ? I want to post this question in there maillist

Is hotplug running? I found that when I configured and built my new kernel I somehow broke things so that when I run /etc/init.d/hotplug start, it will seem to do okay but then say it failed. Running a status shows it unused.
I haven't yet dug into it to see what configs changed to cause that to happen...
