Hello I have a cable (Centronics -> USB) from Belkin model F5U002 and i want to connect my HP DeskJet 710C.
This cable with printer works perfectly in Windows and three months ago i installed RedHat 9 and worked perfectly. Now, i installed Slackware 9.1 (my favorite distro) but i can't get it to work, i know it works Linux, Redhat did it! I'm using CUPS and i the printer module it's loaded, when i try to add the printer in CUPS it even detect the printer in USB port 1 like HP DeskJet 710c, i tried a generic driver and it didn't work, i downloaded the driver for 710c and it didn't work. And when i try to print i get a "Media tray empty!" If i use another HP driver it prints but i don't get any error... :( HELP!!!!! The driver i downloaded is: HP DeskJet 710C Foomatic/pnm2ppa # Printer configuration file for CUPS v1.1.19 # Written by cupsd on Wed Nov 19 13:52:10 2003 <DefaultPrinter hp> Info hp Location hp DeviceURI usb://HP/DeskJet%20710%20Series State Idle Accepting Yes JobSheets none none QuotaPeriod 0 PageLimit 0 KLimit 0 </Printer> __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
