I have been trying to get a SanDisk Cruzer Mini flash drive working under SuSE 8.2. I am having the following problem:

When I insert the device, it is detected by the USB system, and shows up in /proc/bus/usb/devices with correct info and serial number. However, in /proc/scsi/scsi, it is listed as:

Host: scsi2 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: Generic Model: STORAGE DEVICE Rev: 1.25
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

It is not auto-mounted (I don't suppose it should be in SuSe??). When I run sg_scan -i, it lists devices /dev/sg1 through /dev/sg8 as "Sony USB-FDU", and then hangs. ps shows the "sg_scan" process in state "D" (uninterruptible sleep). There is also another process, "[scsi_eh_2]" in state "DW". Of course, neither process can be killed short of rebooting.

Has anyone else had/solved this problem, or can offer advice??

All recent SuSe patches have been installed, including kernel 2.4.20-4GB.
