yes, I'm using a brand new 2.6.0. same problem showed up with 2.6.0-test11, though.
Have you tried it without the ehci-hcd module loaded? It's just a shot in the dark, but USB 2.0 appears to be more unstable than 1.1.
I tried. The system did not lock, but this is not meaningfull. The problem showed up sometimes. Other times I could insert the cdrom without problems.
If you are using the released version then yours is the first report I have seen. Apart from the USB issues, how do you find it?
apart from that, the new kernel looks very promising for a laptop user: acpi and software suspend, together with cpufreq are very usefull. I cannot say much about preemptible kernel since I have no comparison...
this usb problem bothers me, though. rebooting is not part of my habits...:)
Since I had this toshiba laptop only recently and the feature of 2.6.0 were very appealing I do not know wheather my problem shows up even with 2.4.xx...
