I have been following instructions at http://vic.dyndns.org/linux-UsbMassStorage/ for using USB8IN1 card reader on Linux. It went very well except that I could mount it. When I tried to do "mount -t ntfs /dev/sdb /mnt/reader", I got the following error: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb or too many mounted file systems This happens for all filesystems i.e. msdos and vfat When I tried to do "mkfs msdos -t msdos /dev/sdb" I got following error message: mkfs.msdos: will not try to make filesystem on /dev/sdb
sg_scan -i tells that /dev/sg1 corresponds to USB CF reader ( I have CF inserted in reader) and sg_map tell "/dev/sg1" maps to /dev/sdb Regards Mohanlal ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Perforce Software.
