The idea is good. So the generic driver works well with one serial connector why not buy a 8 single usb serial connector and a 8 usb hub :) Maybe this would be the latest solution. If it will not work Ill try to write a patch driver. I dont think that it will be so difficult to write an usb driver for a rs232 converter.
