Hi all,
I recently purchased a "Super Joy Pad 5", which is a 4-port PSX to USB
converter. The problem I'm having is that this device does not seem to
set itself up correctly. Instead of what I believe should be the
desired behavior (creating /dev/js[0-3]), it instead creates
/dev/input/mouse2 and /dev/input/event2. If I use /dev/input/event2 in
an app which uses the joystick (I used ZSNES in my testing), the
joystick shows up as a 16 axis, 48 button joystick (which is somewhat
correct - each PSX pad is 4 axes and 12 buttons), but only the first
joystick seems to send axis events. Would it be possible to split the
device into 4 seperate devices as desired? I looked on the USB ID list
( http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids ) and noticed that there is a similar
product from the same vendor (Wisetech, vendir id 0975) - a 2-port USB
joystick. Here is the information from /proc/bus/usb/devices relevant
to this device:

T: Bus=01 Lev=03 Prnt=09 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 12 Spd=1.5 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0925 ProdID=8800 Rev= 2.88
S: Manufacturer=WiseGroup.,Ltd
S: Product=MP-8800 Quad USB Joypad
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=200mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=03(HID ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hid
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=10ms

The closest match in the usb.ids match is:
0925 Wisegroup, Ltd
        8866 MP-8866 Dual USB Joypad

I'm not familiar enough with how USB goes about creating the devices
needed for each product, but if someone can give me some pointers as to
where to get started, I would be happy to do whatever work is necessary
myself.

Thanks,
