And after copying with KDE, the unmounting is done immediately with no delay, which means that data was really written.
Ok. Maybe the speed difference is caused by a block size? Have you done tests by running dd with different bs= options?
It seems you didn't noticed that I have also provided results with different block sizes.
With obs=512 it takes 3m28 With obs=8192 it takes an infinite time. The process hangs and cannot be killed.
I have then recompiled exactly the same kernel with some debug options, and verbose messages on usb[-storage].
This time I had no error, and I could even set obs=65535, which gave me 500kB/s,
which is the best speed for the device.
It's a pity I could not reproduce the hang with debug messages.
I don't really know what to do now.
I cannot use kgdb or kdb because it needs a serial port and there is none.
