The scsimon stuff is probably harmless since its a relic of the 2.4 kernel.

/proc/interrupts shows the following lines for usb:

 18:     170791          1   IO-APIC-level  uhci_hcd, eth0
 19:          0          0   IO-APIC-level  ohci_hcd, ohci_hcd, ehci_hcd

Kernel was booted with acpi=ht

I'll try with that line removed.
