If you load uhci, input, hid and joydev modules and plug in the Saitek it gets reports as a unknown device and in /proc/bus/usb/devices it is:
T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 5 Spd=1.5 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=06a3 ProdID=0006 Rev= 0.01
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=100mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=03(HID ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=(none)
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 7 Ivl=10ms
Now, rmmod hid and plug it in you get it reported as a "Cyborg #3D USB" by usbview and devices file show:
T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 6 Spd=1.5 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=06a3 ProdID=0006 Rev= 0.01
S: Manufacturer=SAITEK
S: Product=CYBORG 3D USB
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=100mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=03(HID ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=(none)
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 7 Ivl=10ms
Notice the manufacture and product IDs. I wonder why they are not detected when the hid module is loaded? I get soooo coonfuuused :-).
Thanks to all again.
