Yes, I checked with 2.6.6, it still works.

I applied the patch but it didn't help, the symptoms are the same.
Removing the LIRC modules (which tainted the kernel) and the hotplug
script "my_usb" (used to mount the camera) also didn't help.

I rebooted a couple of times, and once cupsd got stuck (it didn't
start). I'm loading the usblp module, although the printer is
powered-off.

I'll try again with 2.6.7-rc1. What else could I try? Remove all USB
hardware and see if the camera alone would work? Anything else?
