Hi,

I would like to run Hotsync (within Wine) in the background to sync my Treo
against Lotus Notes over USB. The problem with USB is that the device is
created in the kernel only if the Treo actually talks over USB. Hotsync
likes to open the device and wait for somebody calling which doesn't work
because most of the time there is no USB device because nobody's talking
:-/

So - is there any way to point Hotsync (or any other palm hotsync software)
to a dummy device that pretends to be there all the time, linking it to
/dev/ttyUSB1 as soon as somebody is there? I assume that could be done in a
kernel module but a user space process would be nicer. Can hotplug do that?
Has someone done that before?

Any help is appreciated...
