Please can someone help me. I am trying to get a Falcom Twist GSM USB modem
(http://www.falcom.de/e/e-body-produkte-twistusb.html) working on my Fedora
core 2 linux box.

cat /proc/bus/usb/device gives me:
[snip]
T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1

I am using kernel 2.6.6-1.435smp and I have run "insmod usbserial.ko
vendor=0x0f94 product=0x0001"

"modprobe -l usbserial" gives me:
/lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435smp/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/usbserial.ko

and /var/log/messages shows me:
Jun 22 01:13:19 balega kernel: drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial
support registered for Generic
Jun 22 01:13:19 balega kernel: usbserial 1-2:1.0: Generic converter detected

Driver core v2.0
Jun 22 01:13:19 balega udev[7848]: creating device node '/udev/ttyUSB0'

but when I do statserial on /udev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB0 I get "statserial:
TIOCMGET failed: Invalid argument".

I have also tried testing the modem in minicom and there is no response from
whatever I try.

Is there a set of diagnostics that I can run to find out what is happening?
Am I just missing out a configuration step? The modem works (with supplied
driver) on Windows 2000 and appears as a comm port.

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Richard Stobart
