exists in very new 2.6 kernels).



I guess this is equivalent to "-b" option in modem_run. This didn't help, but it gave me an idea to check which firmware I'm using because I've been changing it quite frequently in last weeks. I switched to the latest available firmware from Alcatel and USB congestion problem is gone.


I've also finished the workaround for the buggy PIIX3 chipset and everything seems to be running just fine. The "solved" mail for this thread with the patch attached will follow shortly.
