I wanted to know if my USB harddisk is supported on linux. I am using
kernel version 2.6.10-1.9FC2 for Fedora Core 2. The usb device is a
Maxtor Personal Storage 3100 80GB. I had made the following addition to
my /etc/fstab file:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/usbhd vfat defaults
1 2
But I can't mount the device with the prompt saying: /dev/sda1 is not a
valid block device. The output of my /proc/bus/usb/devices file is as
follows:
