Hello,
I am not sure if this is the most approriate place to be posting this
but I found a few simliar posts from Alan Stern
(http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-usb-users&m=110011917429312&w=2)
about this same issue. I just thought perhaps somebody would want to
know. I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ1 camera (2 years old or so now), and
for some reason it used to work pre 2.6 and I haven't used it much since
going to 2.6 but I now ran into the problem that the device wasn't
listed in device_info, but yet was recognized and everything so I did
exactly as Alan Stern said in the before mentioned post but using my
camera's info.
# echo 'MATSHITA:DMC-FZ1:0x80400' >>/proc/scsi/device_info
# cat /proc/scsi/device_info|grep -i fz
'MATSHITA' 'DMC-FZ1 ' 0x80400
I can provide more detail if anyone wants it as well. I am not sure
where the 0x80400 came from but it seems to work with my camera just
fine. This setting wouldn't ruin anything would it? I sure hope not.
Thanks for your time,
Chris-
