Yes, there's a USB2 controller and a USB1.x controller. USB2 doesn't handle USB1.x on its own. And in this (and many) cases, the USB1.x "companion" controller is an OHCI interface, while the onboard USB1.x controller in a UHCI interface. > I did connect the USB hd drive.
