I installed Mandrake Linux 10.1 with kernel version 2.6.8.1-12 mdk and
I have an external ISDN modem (Intracom-netMod) which is connected to
my PC by USB cable. In installation guide which I have (this is
installation guide for kernel version 2.2.18 or higher), it says that
I have to type at the command prompt cd /usr/src/linux-version and
after that to type make xconfig. Linux Kernel Configuration Window
should appear and there I have to switch on USB supports: 1.the core
Kernel support for USB; 2.the USB device file system; 3.UHCI support;
4.OHCI support; 5.CDC ACM support (it is suggasted to include the OHCI
and ACM drivers as modules). My problem is that /usr/src/linux-version
doesn't exist. In /usr/src there is only RPM. Is there some other
possibility to start make xcinfig or some other posibility to ensure
USB supports from the list above?
J seted all properly (I think so) in kppp, but
when I try to establish connection the message "the modem is busy" appear.
In system configuration tool -> Hardware -> Unknown/Others my modem is
recignized (vendor) but module is unknown.
Regards.
