Already checked this with an other cable, computer/chipset.
The new cable doesn't change anything.
Even tried different usb-port (both onboard) on same 
computer which hangs again after a few mins.

On the other computer it's working perfectly with the original and test
cable. 

So any ideas how to further check if it's interference?
