It seems that ECHI fails to communicate with a Palm Treo 650 three out of four
times.

ECHI is compiled static in kernel 2.6.17.13 on a Slackware linux system.

When functioning, dmesg gives:

usb 1-1.1: new full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 24
usb 1-1.1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
visor 1-1.1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected

ttyUSB0
visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from
ttyUSB1

However, when trying again seconds later:

It's the same docking station, same Treo, and nothing has been changed or
moved. The PC has not been rebooted, ie no changes. This happens before udev
kicks in, so it can't be udev related.

I have not found any references to this so it seems like an un-common problem.

Also - after plugging in the Palm Treo and pressing hotsync (to get
it "registered"), the HP printer starts having trouble following the
error-message. Re-inserting the USB cable fixes the problem. When the Palm is
successfully registered, the printer has no following trouble.

Thanks.
