I am doing the exact same thing.. But, I build the logical volumes at the initial configuration using all the devices. If I take a device off, and restart the box, it won't load the any of logical volumes (as it will be missing a device).. So, I was wondering if I could find out the device boundary, so that I can configure log volumes one device at a time. Even if a few devices are missing, the box should be able to work..
Thanks. ----- Original Message ---- From: Matthew Dharm <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Alan Stern <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: usb usb <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; linux-usb-users@lists.sourceforge.net Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2006 10:36:15 AM Subject: Re: [Linux-usb-users] SCSI device access On Tue, Oct 24, 2006 at 09:54:29AM -0400, Alan Stern wrote: > On Mon, 23 Oct 2006, usb usb wrote: > > > Hello, > > > > > > > > I'm using kernel: 2.6.17. > > > > I have a bunch of storage devices (with multiple partitions in each) hooked > > up to a linux box. I think Logical Volumes will also accomplish this, as it stores metadata to identify each drive on the disk itself.
