Hi there, not easy to start, but I'll try: I've got an IBM Thinkpad and i use it with several usb-yevices. I already had problems with usb two times and had it repaired by IBM. The first time usb wasn't working in any way anymore, the second time it was quite similar to (even though worse than) my problem I have now. To the devices: I use three usb-drives (2 hdds, one writer), all (normally) plugged into a usb2.0 hub. The two hdds work fine atm, but the writer makes problems. If plugged into the hub its even worse:

So this doesn't seem perfect either. Because having bad experience with the thinkpad usb (two times just doest't look like accident) I first suspected the usb-controller of my thinkpad again, but after a little testing i saw that only the writer really makes trouble. I can't be really sure, where the problem is to find, is it (or a part of it, it cannot be the problem alone) the usb hub, the tp-controller, the writer or even the case of the writer (wasn't very expensive). Can anyone help me to find the right way? Thanks in advance, and I hope the logs weren't to long...
