Hi everybody! Yesterday i bought a USB PCMCIA adapter card because the two usb controllers in my notebook are broken. I have a digital photo camera whish is working as a mass storage (worked very nice with my internal controller... but that is broken by now :( ). I hat a very fast connection. When i plug in my camera to the new pcmcia card, it is sooooooo slooooooooow. I can copy a picture in half an hour (thats not even 12 MB/s !!!).
The kernel module loader loads the ohci and ehci modules for the pcmcia card. when i connect the camera its always attached to the ohci driver. i don't know, if it is this the problem. i am using gentoo, the pcmcia card is from delock (is an nec controller with usb 2.0). below is the kernel log from inserting the pcmcia card to connecting the camera. can anyone help me pleeeeease in making my camera working fast again? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ inserting the pcmcia card: Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost pccard: CardBus card inserted into slot 0 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost PCI: Enabling device 0000:03:00.0 (0000 -> 0002) Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:03:00.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:03:00.0 to 64 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ohci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: OHCI Host Controller Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ohci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 5 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ohci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: irq 11, io mem 0xc2000000 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost usb usb5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost hub 5-0:1.0: USB hub found Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost hub 5-0:1.0: 3 ports detected Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost PCI: Enabling device 0000:03:00.1 (0000 -> 0002) Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:03:00.1[B] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:03:00.1 to 64 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ohci_hcd 0000:03:00.1: OHCI Host Controller Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ohci_hcd 0000:03:00.1: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 6 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ohci_hcd 0000:03:00.1: irq 11, io mem 0xc2001000 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost usb usb6: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost hub 6-0:1.0: USB hub found Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost hub 6-0:1.0: 2 ports detected Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost PCI: Enabling device 0000:03:00.2 (0000 -> 0002) Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:03:00.2[C] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ehci_hcd 0000:03:00.2: EHCI Host Controller Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ehci_hcd 0000:03:00.2: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 7 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ehci_hcd 0000:03:00.2: irq 11, io mem 0xc2002000 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost ehci_hcd 0000:03:00.2: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00, driver 10 Dec 2004 Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost usb usb7: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost hub 7-0:1.0: USB hub found Mar 30 10:48:56 localhost hub 7-0:1.0: 5 ports detected and now connecting the camera: Mar 30 10:50:04 localhost ohci_hcd 0000:03:00.1: wakeup Mar 30 10:50:05 localhost usb 6-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2 Mar 30 10:50:07 localhost usb 6-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Mar 30 10:50:07 localhost scsi2 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Mar 30 10:50:07 localhost usb-storage: device found at 2 Mar 30 10:50:07 localhost usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning Mar 30 10:50:12 localhost Vendor: SANYO Model: S50 Rev: 1.00 Mar 30 10:50:12 localhost Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Mar 30 10:50:13 localhost SCSI device sdb: 977920 512-byte hdwr sectors (501 MB) Mar 30 10:50:13 localhost sdb: Write Protect is off Mar 30 10:50:13 localhost sdb: Mode Sense: 18 00 00 08 Mar 30 10:50:13 localhost sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Mar 30 10:50:14 localhost SCSI device sdb: 977920 512-byte hdwr sectors (501 MB) Mar 30 10:50:14 localhost sdb: Write Protect is off Mar 30 10:50:14 localhost sdb: Mode Sense: 18 00 00 08 Mar 30 10:50:14 localhost sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Mar 30 10:50:16 localhost sdb: sdb1 Mar 30 10:50:16 localhost sd 2:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sdb Mar 30 10:50:16 localhost sd 2:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 0 Mar 30 10:50:16 localhost usb-storage: device scan complete
